Promax sponsors 2010 MS Gong Ride
Promax “Team Awesome”
take on the Gong Ride for MS
What is the Gong Ride?
The Gong Ride is a one of a kind fundraising event. You can pedal 90km from Sydney to Wollongong on any day of the year but it’s only on the first Sunday of November that you’ll experience the camaraderie, fellowship, unity, safety, scenery and sense of achievement for pedalling in support of people living with MS. The event in 2010 has already raised more than $3.2 million.
Four members of the Promax Development and Customer Support teams took part in the 2010 MS Sydney to the Gong Bike Ride in order to raise funds for people affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
For Johann, our Development Manager, it’s his fifth year in a row…what a hero. In true Promax ” team awesome” spirit, Johann, Troy, Gavin and Cameron did it in true style, starting at St Peters and pedalling the whole 90km to Wollongong via Brighton Le Sands, the Royal National Park and the spectacular Sea Cliff Bridge. The skies were clear and the sun was shining so they more than worked off a few calories but most importantly contributed $1731.00 to this wonderful and worthwhile fundraising event.
MS is is the most common disease of the central nervous system and affects more than 20,000 Australians.
Did you know?
- Multiple Sclerosis is a disease affecting more young Australians than any other neurological condition
- The average age of diagnosis of MS is just 30 years
- MS affects three times as many women as men
MS Australia aims to minimise the impact of multiple sclerosis on all individuals affected by the disease, as well as their families, carers and the community, by offering a wide range of services, equipment and support. MS Australia’s goal is to assist everyone affected by MS to live life to their fullest potential and secure the care and support they need, until we ultimately find a cure. Promax and it’s staff are very proud to be involved in this worthy cause.
